SIDELIGHTS For all seniors

Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, family benefits seminar at 10 a.m. and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, computer class at 10 a.m. and noon, oil painting at 10, blood pressure screening at noon and chorus at 1:30 p.m.; Wednesday, water color class at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30, 500 card club at 1 and follies at 1:30; Thursday, woodcarvers at 9 a.m., blood pressure screening at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 and line dancing at 3; and Friday, craft club at 12:30 p.m. Call (330) 744-5071 for more information.

SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 9273 High St. N.E., Warren, has planned the following activities: family potluck night at 5 p.m. Wednesday, take potluck meal and admittance is free, otherwise $2 for 12 and older and $1 for under 12, reservations are required; lecture by Paul Minton of St. Joseph Health Center on "Domestic Terrorism: What You Need to Know" from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, cost of luncheon is $3.50, or you may come for the lecture only, reservations are needed; trip to the Cleveland Home and Flower Show departing at 8 a.m. Feb. 11 from Howland Community Church and returning at 7 p.m., cost of $31 includes transportation and admission to the show as well as two museums, deposit required; valentine dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 13, cost is $7.50 in advance or $8 at the door, and reservations are required; and trip to Pittsburgh for Stars on Ice show departing from the church at 12:30 p.m. March 10 and returning at 11:30 p.m., cost is $65 with a $30 deposit required, there will be a late lunch stop at 3 p.m. at King's Restaurant. SCOPE Lake Vista Satellite will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Lake Vista Club House, 303 North Mecca St., Cortland. Local artist Larry James will present his work. Those attending should take finger foods to share.
