Cars are damaged in Austintown

Published: Tue, January 22, 2002 @ 12:00 a.m.

AUSTINTOWN -- Police are investigating a report that several cars were damaged by teens Friday night in the parking lot of Taco Bell on Mahoning Avenue.

Witnesses said they watched 25 to 100 teens kick and hit five or six cars in the lot about 9:45 p.m.

A Youngstown teen and a Boardman teen told police that their cars had been dented. The Youngstown teen said he went to Taco Bell to talk to some of the teens who damaged his car.

Police also are investigating reports that tires were found slashed on two cars Friday morning. One was parked on Woodhurst Drive; another was parked on Eastwind Place. Police also received reports of tire slashings in that area Thursday.
