The buy expands the company's market area into Masury, Brookfield and western Pennsylvania.

WARREN -- ONE Communications, a Trumbull County-based Internet service provider, has acquired competitor ISP Netlink Internet Services, another local provider based in Warren.

ONECom owners Peggy Millik McBane and Terry McBane said the acquisition includes ISP Netlink's entire subscriber list dating back to 1996, along with its domain names, company trademarks and other intellectual property. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The Netlink subscriber list includes Brookfield, Masury, Sharon, Hermitage, Mercer and Sharpsville, expanding the company's market area into the Brookfield-Masury area and western Pennsylvania areas.

With the acquisition, ONECom owners said, the company is the largest locally owned and operated Internet service provider in Trumbull County.

"We welcome Netlink's loyal subscribers into the growing community of ONECom users," Peggy Millik McBane said. She said the company will be adding technology to provide customers with the best Internet experience, along with e-business solutions for commercial customers.

Broadband service: One Communications will also offer its new customers the company's high-speed Internet service, Windcast Fixed Broadband Wireless.

A privately held company, ONECom recently moved to Riverside Square, the former St. Joseph Riverside Hospital, at 1400 Tod Ave. in Warren. Owners said they made the move to expand their wireless service.

ONECom has developed custom-designed Web sites and e-commerce solutions for businesses and nonprofit organizations. The company also provides e-mail, Web site hosting, shopping cart solutions for e-commerce, server co-location and database programming.

It has developed broadband solutions specially designed for commercial buildings and the hospitality industry.

The Avalon Inn in Howland is a recent customer. The company said it supplied its high-speed, always-on Internet service to guest and meeting rooms at the hotel.
