Reception held to honor the Meads on their 50th wedding anniversary

BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Dewey C. Mead, 375 Erskine Ave., were honored by friends and relatives as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a reception Dec. 28 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where she is a member.

Arrangements for the festivities were made by the couple's family, Gary Mead of Arlington, Va., and Jerry and Linda Mead of Martinsburg, W.Va. Also participating were their three grandchildren.

The former Parthenia (Parky) Weaver and Mr. Mead were united in marriage Jan. 12, 1952, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown.

Mrs. Mead retired in 1987 from Dollar Savings and Trust Co. in Youngstown

Mr. Mead served with the U.S. Army and retired in 1987 from Naegle Advertising in Youngstown, where he was a bill poster.
