YOUNGSTOWN -- Boltech, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of equipment for the metals industry, has hired Ken Platt as manager of engineering. Platt, a certified professional engineer with many years of experience in the design of custom engineered products, has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
AKRON -- Louis Berroteran, a Youngstown native, has been named vice president of government relations for the Greater Akron Chamber. He will be responsible for implementing a government relations program for the agency. Berroteran had been district director for U.S. Rep. Thomas Sawyer of Akron, D-14th. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Kent State University and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Akron.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Home Savings and Loan has hired Mario Abbattista of Boardman as branch sales manager of its Arrowhead branch, and Stephanie J. Elick of East Palestine as customer service manager of its East Palestine branch. Abbattista is a graduate of Springfield Local High School and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University. Elick is an East Palestine High School graduate.
