Slate of officers for 2002 inducted by Al Asir Court 200 in December

YOUNGSTOWN -- The election and installation of officers for the coming season was a highlight of a meeting of Al Asir Court 200, Daughters of Isis, held Dec. 16 at the Covenant Lodge Hall.

Sara L. Taylor of Wellsville was seated as illustrious commandress of the court. She is a past worthy matron of John Washington Chapter 68 of East Liverpool. A member of the First Baptist Church of Wellsville, she is active in several ministries, is the church treasurer and serves as a trustee.

Also seated: Installed as her associate officers were Joyce Powell, first lieutenant commandress; Irma Edmondson, second lieutenant commandress; Barbara Morgan, high priestess; Mable Eskew, oriental guide; Mary Byrdclark, treasurer; Dorothy Henry, recordress; Delores Murphy, first ceremonial daughter; Emma Jean Haley, second ceremonial daughter; Amma Mae Jones, inside spy; and Joella Marbury, outside spy.

Serving as appointed officers will be Gwendolyn Murrell, assistant recordress; Juanita Thompson, marshal; and James Haley, noble adviser.
