Throat cut in fight
WARREN -- A woman was injured in a fight at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at 2886 Duke Ave. Charla Owens, 22, no address available, had surgery at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital on a 9-inch throat laceration. She was in fair condition Saturday. Police arrested a 23-year-old woman who could face charges of felonious assault.
Drives into river
WARREN -- A driver went over the bank of the Mahoning River to elude police Friday night. City police spotted reckless driving at Park Avenue and Belmont Street. When they tried to stop the car, the driver sped along Prospect Avenue, Vernon Avenue and Hall Street before turning onto Mahoning Avenue. The driver headed north before abruptly turning left over the river bank about half a mile south of Dunstan Drive. The driver fled, but the fire department retrieved the car's passenger, using 150 feet of rope. A tow truck recovered the vehicle from the river.
