BASEBALL

Tri-T -- will meet January 16 at 8 p.m. at the Poland community baseball center. All communities that plan on participating in the 2002 season must be represented by their league president or designee. Call 707-1399 or e-mail tritbaseball@aol.com

The Baseball School -- will offer group hitting lessons on Monday evenings through Jan. 28 for boys and girls age 9-16. For details call (330) 793-5605.

The Baseball School -- is accepting registration for its instructional clinic that starts Feb. 17. for players age 8-14. Call 793-5605.

BASKETBALL

Columbiana County Occupational Work Experience Coordinators Association will sponsor its hoop classic at Crestview High for boys and girls in grades 5 and 6 on March 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10. Call (330) 332-9693 or 482-4744.

COACHING VACANCY

FLAG FOOTBALL

Valley Sports -- is now registering teams for its second session which starts later this month. For details call (330) 755-1661.

ICE SKATING

Ice skating lessons -- are now being offered on Saturday mornings at the Mill Creek Park Ice Rink in the Wick Recreation Area for participants age 4 to adult. The beginner lessons will run for three weeks on Feb. 2, 9 and 16. Rental skates are available. For details call (330) 740-7126.

SOCCER

S.O.I. -- will sponsor foot skills training for boys and girls age 10-14 at Valley Sports on Thursday evenings. Call (330) 788-7284.

Austintown Junior League -- signups Feb. 2 & amp; 9 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m and Feb. 3 & amp; 10 from noon until 4 at the township hall.

S.O.I. -- tryouts for boys U-10, U-12, U-13, U-15 and girls U-14 and U-16 at Valley Sports in Struthers. Teams are forming for winter indoor and sprint outdoor. Players from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties are welcomed. Email neo@soccer.com or call 793-9209.

UMPIRING CLASSES

Trumbull Interscholastic -- Umpires Association is offering classes in softball and Baseball, leading to OHSAA certification. Classes each Wednesday for eight weeks from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. will begin Jan. 30 at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center. For more information call (330) 898-7679.
