WOMEN
Who: YSU (3-8, 0-1) vs. Butler (1-12, 0-3).When: 5:15 p.m. Where: Beeghly Center.The coaches: Ed DiGregorio (304-208) is in his 19th season with the Penguins. Wendy Gatlin (19-48) is in her third season with the Bulldogs.YSU starters: Jen Perugini, 6-2 freshman forward (12.6 points per game, 10.8 rebounds per game); Cathy Hanek, 5-8 sophomore guard (8.4, 1.8); Jenny Horner, 6-2 senior center (9.9, 6.8); Maggie Johnston, 5-5 junior guard (6, 2.7); Heather Harris, 6-0 sophomore forward (12.9, 3.6).Butler starters: Nancy Bowden, 5-2 sophomore guard, 9.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg; Angel Mason, 5-8 freshman guard, 6.8, 3.6; Cortney Urquhart 6-2 freshman center, 7.5, 4.6; Marla Marchesano. 5-1 freshman forward, 5.9, 0.5; Sarah Bolten, 5-10 sophomore forward 12.5, 7.2.
Scouting report: The Penguins dropped their Horizon League opener on Thursday at Cleveland State 80-71. It was the ninth straight road game for the Penguins, who are playing home tonight for the first time since Nov. 24. YSU is 1-1 at home, beating Kent State and losing to Bowling Green. Butler has lost three straight games in the league, most recently an 86-68 decision to Detroit on Thursday.
The series: This will be the first meeting between the Penguins and Bulldogs.Radio: WBBW-AM (1240), WPIC-AM (790), WSOM-AM (600).
MEN
Who: YSU (2-9, 0-1) vs. Wright State (8-3, 1-0).When: 7:35 p.m.Where: Beeghly Center.The coaches: John Robic is 33-36 in his third season with the Penguins. Ed Schilling, in his fifth season with Wright State is 56-67.
YSU starters: Stephen Flores, 6-foot-7 senior forward (7.7 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game); Brian Radakovich, 6-7 freshman forward (5.5, 3.7); Jimmy Moore, 6-5 freshman guard (7.1, 5.3); Doug Underwood, 6-3 freshman guard (12.2, 4); Ryan Patton, 5-11 senior guard (15.6, 2.4).Wright State starters: Vernard Hollins, 6-2 junior guard 14.9 ppg, 5.9 rpg; Jesse Delste,r 6-3 senior guard 15.2, 3; Thomas Hope, 6-8 junior center 3.2, 4.8; Cain Doiboa, 6-7 senior 14.6, 5.7; Seth Doliboa, 6-7 sophomore 16.7, 7.6.
Scouting report: The Penguins are coming off a horrible performance Wednesday, losing their Horizon League opener 77-55 to UW-Milwaukee at Beeghly Center. The Penguins are now 2-2 at Beeghly and 1-7 on the road. Wright State is coming off a major upset when it knocked off No. 20 ranked and previously undefeated Butler on Wednesday 90-87 in double overtime.
The series: This will be the 23rd meeting between the two teams with Wright State holding a commanding 18-4 advantage. The last meeting was in 1996-97 when the Penguins defeated the Raiders 69-63 at Beeghly.
