Entrants to eat, race for charity

SHARON, Pa. -- More than 300 people are expected to participate in the annual Frostbite Foodtaste Footrace through Sharon Jan. 10.
The event will raise money for the Help Heat Homes program run through the Prince of Peace Center on Farrell.
The race begins at 7 p.m. with participants required to travel by foot to 10 of the city's best-known gathering places to taste free special food items. Beverage specials will also be available.
Another Corner Tavern (ACT) on Sharpsville Avenue will be the first stop.
From there, participants go south along Sharpsville Avenue to Papa's Place, Billy's Black & amp; Gold and Our Gang's Lounge and must then stop at The Side Pocket Cafe on Silver Street, Sharon Hotel on Railroad Street, The Wave on East State Street, The Phoenix on West State Street and at Quaker Steak & amp; Lube on Connelly Boulevard at Chestnut Street.
The final stop is an outdoor tailgate party in the Hot Rod Cafe parking lot next to Quaker Steak & amp; Lube.
Entry forms are available at participating establishments or participants may register from 4 to 6 p.m. on race day at Quaker Steak & amp; Lube or ACT.
The $10 fee includes a souvenir hat and T-shirt for the first 250 entrants.
