Summary of police activity:


Dec. 24

Counterfeit money: A supervisor at Farmers National Bank, 401 E. Main St., said a deposit from a business included a counterfeit $20 bill.

Dec. 27

Shoplifting: A white, heavy-set male, who employees said had shoplifted from the store twice before, was seen stealing several items, including toilet tissue and a carton of milk.

Dec. 28

Drugs: A 41-year-old Girard man was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.


Dec. 22

Theft: Fuel was reported stolen from a Pilot Gas Station, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road, and from Shell gas station, 4200 Mahoning Avenue.

Dec. 23

Criminal damaging: Tires were cut on a vehicle in a lot at 1832 Paisley Ave.

Criminal damaging: A garage door was reported spray painted at 1916 Paisley Ave.

Theft: Christmas lights and a mechanical deer were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Signature Circle.

Theft: An unknown amount of merchandise was stolen from Ames.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported in the 30 block of S. Wickcliffe Circle.

Theft: A keyboard was stolen from Kmart.

Dec. 25

Auto theft: A 1989 Oldsmobile was stolen from the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court. Youngstown police recovered the vehicle.

Theft: Gasoline was stolen at Speedway, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Dec. 26

Break-in: No signs of forced entry were found in a break-in at Youngstown Pre-Press, 3691 LeHarps Road.

Theft: Gasoline was stolen at True North, 1704 S. Raccoon Road.

Break-in: Construction equipment was stolen from 3489 Starwick Drive.

Burglary: There was no forced entry but money was stolen from a residence in the 20 block of Wickliffe Circle.

Dec. 27

Theft: A wallet containing $100 was stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Auto theft: A 1991 Blue Ford Explorer was stolen from Kmart and recovered in the 100 block of Idlewood Road.

Dec. 28

Theft: Miscellaneous Christmas decorations and yard ornaments were stolen from the front yard of a home in the 4000 block of Statz Drive.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Moorefield Road.

Burglary: Miscellanous items were stolen from a residence in the 4000 block of Barrington Drive.

Dec. 29

Theft: A sign was taken from a yard in the 1500 block of Pimlico Drive.

Theft: $240 in diesel fuel was stolen from Pilot Gas Station, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: A woman was threatened by a male who spit in her face at the Austintown Post Office.

Theft from auto: A CD player was taken from a vehicle in the 5000 block of West Elmwood Avenue.

Dec. 30

Theft from auto: A CD player was stolen from the 200 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A purse and its contents were stolen from Wal-Mart.
