These Northern Ohio National Forensic League competitors earned a trip to the 2002 National Speech and Debate Tournament in Charlotte, N.C., June 15-21. More than 200 students competed in the regional tournament at Ursuline High School in Youngstown over the weekend.
Lincoln-Douglas debate: Ric Diaz, Howland; Lexi Moore, Howland.
Dramatic interpretation: Kyle Merritt of Howland; Carrie Delesky, Austintown Fitch.
Original oratory: Diana Awad, Youngstown Cardinal Mooney; Bradley Holko, Warren John F. Kennedy.
Humorous interpretation: Dustin Serbin, Niles McKinley; Ryan Clausen, Fitch.
U.S. Extemporaneous: Mark Beatty, Boardman; Amy Reynallt, Fitch.
Foreign Extemporaneous: Ari Kessler, Boardman; James Johnston, Poland Seminary.
