Lake Catholic captures Perry wrestling tournament

MENTOR -- The Lake Catholic High wrestling team scored 231 points Saturday to win the Division II sectional tournament.

Hubbard finished eighth in the 11-team field with 88 points and Liberty was 10th with 38.5.

The top four athletes in each weight class advanced to next week's district at Perry High School.

Justin Wess of Hubbard lost a 13-4 decision to Sean Connelly of Lake Catholic for the 112-pound title.

The Eagles' Joe Horton dropped a 4-2 decision to Mickey Bitsko of West Geauga in the 160 consolation final and teammate Tony Frazzini was beaten by Dawson Knight of Conneaut, 4-0, to place fourth in the 215 class.

Adam Stulberg, 152, of University School decisioned Dave Bratslavsky of Liberty 4-1 for third place.
