Stone stays in Cubato do some research

HAVANA -- Oliver Stone is in Cuba to research a possible documentary about the island, a producer with the project said.

The 55-year-old director arrived in Havana on Wednesday night and planned to stay for a week, producer Fernando Sulichin told The Associated Press. He offered no additional details.

Stone, who won Academy Awards for "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July," met President Fidel Castro during a 1987 visit here for the screening of one of his earlier films, "Salvador." Stone's other credits include "JFK," "Nixon," "The Doors, "Natural Born Killers" and "Wall Street."

Soap opera producerbuys Lay's Colo. home

The mystery buyer of former Enron Chairman Kenneth Lay's Aspen, Colo., vacation home reluctantly went public with his $10 million purchase in a brief statement issued from the Hollywood set of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Bradley Bell, 37, executive producer of the popular soap opera, and his wife, Colleen, described themselves last week as "very low-key and private people" who would like to keep it that way -- despite paying a stratospheric price for the Lay family's secluded getaway home.

Bell, also head writer for the CBS daytime series, declined to be interviewed. But through the show's publicist, he said he had no immediate plans for the property other than using it as a personal residence.

Spokesman Joe Handy stressed that the week-old sale was a private, arm's-length transaction with no hidden agenda. "Mr. Bell does not know Mr. Lay, and has no ties to the Enron Corp.," Handy said.

The 3,015-square-foot home was built in 1959, and sits on a 3-acre riverfront lot within walking distance from the resort's downtown.

The Lays bought the home at 165 Shady Lane as a personal retreat in 1991 for just under $2 million.

Britney on bussing:It was nerve-racking

Britney Spears says that her first on-screen kiss in her new movie "Crossroads" was nerve-racking and strange -- performing in front of so many people, but co-star Anson Mount helped her get through it. She hopes boyfriend Justin Timberlake feels comfortable watching it because she says watching him kiss other girls in his 'N Sync videos bothers her.
