TODAY

A fish buffet will be sponsored by St. Matthias Infant Jesus of Prague Guild from 4 to 7 p.m. at Father Snock Center, 2800 Shady Run Road Youngstown. Meals are $7.75 for adults, $4.50 for children 3-10 and free for those under 3. Dinners feature soup, pasta fagioli, haluski, macaroni with cheese or sauce, vegetable, salad, dessert and beverage.

THURSDAY

XCol. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meals will be served with meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for children 8. Carryout orders will be $5 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve pasta dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. The all-you-can-eat family-style dinners include two meatballs, salad, bun, dessert and beverage, and are available for takeout. Cost is $5.95 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. For information call (330) 538-3351.

Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St., Youngstown, will hold a women's luncheon at noon Thursday. No reservations are required. The cost is $3. There will be a program.

Post and auxiliary members of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve spaghetti dinners with salad, bread and coffee or tea from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and 2.50 for children under 12. Carryouts are $5.25.

FRIDAY

Boy Scout Troop 70 will hold a fish dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Bazetta Christian Church, 4131 Bazetta Road, Cortland. On the menu will be baked or fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $4 for children 3-12 and free to children under 3.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be taking orders for potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-ins will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday only. Patrons are asked to provide containers.

Fish dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod, Spanish rice or haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries, coleslaw, bread, butter, coffee and tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeout orders. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for pirogi, hot pirogi lunches and plain, cinnamon and powdered sugar doughnuts. Orders are taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528 and are to be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $3.50 for a dozen pirogi.

Hubbard VFW 3767 Auxiliary, 710 W. Liberty St., will hold a fish fry from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for large dinners, baked or fried, and $4.25 for small dinners. The menu will include a choice of french fries, haluski or macaroni and cheese. Carryouts will be available. For information call (330) 534-9775.

National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will be serving a fish buffet and selling pirogi. The buffet will be available from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and will cost $8 for adults and $5 for children. Potato and cheese pirogi may be ordered ahead as a takeout. The cost is $4 a dozen.

Orders will be taken for potato pirogi at St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 799-0084. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pirogi are $3.75 per dozen. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Patrons may provide their own containers and are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for pizza at (330) 746-9577 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Orders must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.

St. Brendan Church will sponsor a fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Maxwell Hall, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of beer batter, fried or baked fish, macaroni and cheese, baked potato or french fries, coleslaw, bread and butter, cake and coffee. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. For takeout service call (330) 799-3683.

St. Demetrios Church, 3223 Atlantic St., Warren, will serve fish dinners from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Dine-in or takeout will be available, and dinners will feature baked or fried fish, choice of two side dishes, coleslaw, bread and butter, dessert and beverage.

St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church will hold a family fish fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Shady Run Activity Center, 3800 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. Meals will feature 10-ounce fried or baked haddock with side dishes and dessert. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children 12 and under. Takeout orders also will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, Route 170, Main Street, New Middletown, will be taking orders for potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi at (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Frozen pirogi will be available.

St. Rose Church of Girard Ladies of Mount Carmel Society will be selling pasta and beans, fried dough and several varieties of pizza Friday at the church, 48 E. Main St., Girard. Orders can be placed by calling Kathy Barreca at (330) 509-9057 or Louise Rose at (330) 545-0000. Pickups will be from noon to 4 p.m. There will be no walk-in orders accepted for pizza.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, based on availability, at (330) 747-3024. The cost is $3.50 a dozen. On Friday lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.

XSt. Vincent De Paul Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will serve a fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu will feature baked or fried fish, homemade haluski or pirogi, parsley potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Takeouts will be available, and the cost is $6.50 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $3.50 for students 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

Family-style Swiss steak suppers will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smith Grange, corner of Middletown and Beloit-Snodes roads. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 5-12. Those under 5 may eat free.

SATURDAY

Burghill-Vernon Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include salad bar, dessert and beverage. Adult meals are $9 a couple or $5 singles; senior-citizen meals are $8 a couple or $4.25 singles; and children meals are $3 for children 4-12 and free for those under 4. Ellsworth Presbyterian Youth Group will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ellsworth Presbyterian Church, state Route 224 at Ellsworth Road. Meals are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. Those under 3 are free. Carryouts will be available.

Johnston Federated United Methodist Church, Route 193, will hold an all-you-can-eat ham dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 5-12 and free to those 4 and under. Meals will include green beans, scalloped potatoes, salad bar, rolls, dessert bar and beverage. Carryout also will be available. SUNDAY

American Legion Auxiliary, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve spaghetti dinners from 3 to 6 p.m. The all-you-can-eat meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children.

A chicken paprikash dinner will be served by the Circle of Serbian Sisters of Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, Laird Avenue, Youngstown, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Serbian Memorial Hall. The menu will also include homemade dumplings, salad, bread and butter, and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are required.

First Congregational Church, 612 W. Broad St., Newton Falls, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3.50 for children 6-12, and free for those under 6.

Fowler Volunteer Fire Department will hold a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, state Route 193. Prices are $4.50 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and children 6-12, and free for preschoolers.

Italian-American War Veterans, Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 6-10. Those under 6 may eat for free. Carryouts also will be available to patrons providing their own containers.

Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will hold a pasta dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu will also feature meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and coffee or punch. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 7-12 and free to those 6 and under. Carryouts will be available. Tickets are available at the shrine office after all Masses. There also will be a 50/50 drawing.

St. Joseph Society of St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 4-12, and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts will be available. Tickets are available from society members or at the church rectory, (330) 755-0266.

TAKING ORDERS

National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, is taking orders for two-pound loaves of homemade Easter bread, plain or iced, at (330) 538-3351 until March 22. The cost is $5 each. Orders may be picked up Wednesday through Good Friday during Holy Week.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, is taking orders for homemade wedding soup at (330) 856-2597 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays until Tuesday. The cost is $5 a quart. Pickup will be after the 5 p.m. Mass Feb. 23 and after the 8 and 10 a.m. Masses Feb. 24. Orders are also being taken for potato and cheese pirogi for from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the above number. Pickup will be from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 22. Cost is $3.75 per dozen. No walk-ins will be accepted. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers or there will be an extra 50-cent charge for one. Please use the hall side entrance.

Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., is taking orders for Hungarian hurka until Monday at (330) 799-7008. The cost is $3 a pound. Pickup will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at the club.

UPCOMING

The Boar's Head Ladies of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at the church. The menu will also feature salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. XA free dinner is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. Feb. 21 at Braceville Town Hall, next to the fire station, by St. Nicholas Orthodox Outreach.

Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St., will hold a "Dinner in the Stacks" March 9 at the library. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the invocation and the catered dinner at 7. There also will be a cash bar. Cost is $50 per person, and reserved tables for eight will be available for $400. Proceeds will benefit the library. Call the library for more information and reservations. Seating is limited.

Hungarian Presbyterian Church will hold a chicken paprikash dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at Calvin Center, 733 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. The dinner is by reservation only, and cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Takeout service will be available by prior reservation. Reservations must be made by Feb. 20 by calling Frank Yuhas, (330) 793-3151, or Fran Kohuth, (330) 793-4378.

A pasta dinner will be served at New Covenant Church, 1911 Harlansburg Road, New Castle, Pa., from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 23. Meals include meatballs, bread, salad, beverage and dessert. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 3-12 and free for those under 3.

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 185 Laird Ave. N.E., Warren, will sponsor sacrificial soup supper following the 6 p.m. Mass Feb. 20 in the social hall. A freewill offering will be taken and donated to a charity.
