Romans honored by friends, family on anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN -- The banquet hall at Taste Buds in Canfield was the setting Jan. 12 as family members and friends honored Mr. and Mrs. John Roman of Youngstown, who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

Invitations for the event were extended by the couple's children and their spouses, Judy and Mark Martello of New Castle, Pa.; Nancy Colla of Poland; and Richard and Denise Roman of Austintown. There are eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in the family.

The former Viola Norman and Mr. Roman were united in marriage Jan. 17, 1942, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Roman was an operator for Bell Telephone Co. prior to retiring in 1952. She is a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Her husband served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and is the owner of Roman Cycle Shop. He is a member of the American Motorcycle Association and of the BMW Owners of America.
