YOUNGSTOWN -- A man whom authorities say they arrested as he prepared suspected crack cocaine was arraigned Monday in Youngstown Municipal Court. Terrance May, 26, of West Warren Avenue, was charged with possessing crack cocaine, and Judge Robert P. Milich set a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
May was arrested about 2:45 p.m. Friday after the execution of a search warrant at his residence by members of Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force.
Officers confiscated 13 ounces of the suspected drug as it was being cooked and a .38-caliber handgun.
Charges are pending against four other men who were in the residence at the time of the search.
Officials said May also is under investigation by the Youngstown Gang Unit for possible involvement in the 51/50 Bloods gang.
Special agent James McCann and Deputy Jeff Allen are leading the case. Also involved in the arrest were the Youngstown Police Department Tactical Unit and Vice Squad and the FBI.
