Youngstown Health Department has received three federal grants totaling $333,885:

$188,455, for HIV prevention, which includes $28,000 for the Mahoning County Chemical Dependency Program; $15,074 for the Mahoning County Area Task Force on AIDS; and $9,000 for the Youngstown-Warren Black Nurses Association.

$125,430, for the Mahoning County Immunization Action Plan, which provides shots for children from birth to age 2.

$20,000, for Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Control. City Health Commissioner Neil Altman, who applied for more than $270,000 for the program, said he is hopeful additional funding will be provided through the ODH from another federal source.
