Help with heating

YOUNGSTOWN -- Low-income people whose gas or electric service has been shut off, or who are being threatened with a shutoff, or who have less than a 10-day supply of coal or wood may apply for help from the emergency home energy assistance program.

The 24-hour HEAP information number is (330) 480-9630, and appointments for assistance may be made by calling that number between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The local program, which operates until March 31, is run by the Youngstown Area Community Action Council, 101 Federal Plaza East, Suite 200.
