AUSTINTOWN -- A former clerk to the Mahoning County commissioners has been named to the board of elections by the executive committee of the county's Democratic Party.

Dillon has served on the board four years.

Party Chairman David Ditzler said support for Wasko was, "pretty much unanimous."

Eighteen of the executive committee's 20 members attended the vote, which was held at the Austintown Township building.

He served as clerk to the commissioners for more than five years and unsuccessfully ran for a state House seat in 1992.
