POLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Rosselli of Poland were honored Dec. 29 on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary during a Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, where the couple renewed their marriage vows.
A dinner was held afterward at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Rosanne Volpini of Poland, Stephanie Rosselli and Eugene Grupp of Poland, Marilou and James Africa of Aurora, and Dominic Jr. and Eleanor Rosselli of Poland. Twelve grandchildren complete their family.
The Rossellis were married Nov. 8, 1941, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mrs. Rosselli, the former Constance Napolitano, received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from Youngstown State University. She was a teacher and project coordinator for Youngstown City School District prior to her retirement. She is a member of the Youngstown State University Women's Club and the Youngstown Business and Professional Women's Club, for which she served as president.
Her husband served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1942-46. He earned his bachelor's degree in education at Geneva College and his master's in that field at the University of Pittsburgh. He is retired from YSU, where he was a teacher and basketball, baseball and assistant football coach. He received the YSU Heritage Award in 1995 and was named Ohio Coach of the Year in 1957 and 1964. He also was named National Italian Coach of the Year in 1959 and National Collegiate Athletic Association District Coach of the Year in 1977.
The couple are members of St. Anthony Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
