KENT -- The Kent State University Foundation has raised more than 80 percent of its $100 million fund-raising goal.
The Campaign for Kent State University, the largest drive in the university's 92-year history, will provide scholarships, endowed faculty positions and other support to the university's eight-campus system.
The foundation has garnered $82.1 million, including 18 pledges of $1 million or more. The campaign will conclude in June 2003.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Dr. David Skeele, associate professor of theater at Slippery Rock University, has won the Kennedy Center Award for Outstanding Service to the American College Theater Festival Association. The award was presented at the association's regional meeting at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The medal honors Skeele's work as a respondent visiting various college productions and offering feedback to actors, lighting, design and costume crews.
