The junior scored 24 points in Boardman's SVC win over Cardinal Mooney.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Junior Amber Bland scored 24 points to surpass the 1,000-point career mark, as Boardman High rolled to an 84-38 win over Cardinal Mooney Thursday night, in a girls Steel Valley conference basketball game.
Bland entered the game with 999 career points and now has 1,023.
Jen Hlebovy contributed 16 points while Brittany Durkin and Allison Davis had 12 apiece to bolster the Spartans (5-0, 1-0 SVC). Davis made four 3-point goals.
Amber Bodrick had nine points for Mooney (2-1, 0-1).
Warren JFK 53,Warren Harding 45
WARREN -- Alyssa Chaves scored 17 points to pace the Eagles. Krystal Naples added 11, eight of them coming at the foul line.
JFK (2-1) tossed in 24-of-35 free throws, but Warren Harding (0-5) had a 19-12 edge in field goals.
Desire Jenkins led the Raiders with 10 points.
Chaney 50, Campbell 29
CAMPBELL -- Joselyn Parker had 18 points and Courtney Williams 14 to lead Chaney (1-2), while Donielle Eldridge chipped in with six points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Tierra McIntosh had 13 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks to pace Campbell, while Maria Rohan added eight points and nine rebounds and Samantha Jackson four points and three assists.
Liberty 55, Badger 22
LIBERTY -- The Leopards (3-1) put three players in double figures in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Lena Esmail tallied 12 points, while Brittany Humphrey added 11, with 10 rebounds and Chenelle Mills scored 10 points.
Samantha Bonar led the Braves with eight points.
Hubbard 56, Newton Falls 48
HUBBARD -- The Eagles rallied in the second half as they outscored the Tigers 34-20 to prevail in a TAC outing.
Katie Jo Mroski sparked Hubbard with 17 points. Jami Duvall added 13 and Lynle Cornell finished with 12.
Courtney Pelyak led the Tigers with 14 points. Desiree Sterling had 13.
