CANFIELD Razor thief proves that he's a lot sharper than authorities

The thief took several hundred dollars' worth of razors.
CANFIELD -- A man suspected of stealing disposable razors from several area stores has eluded police and Giant Eagle security personnel.
City police reports show that the man has a habit of stealing the razors from the grocery stores.
Man was recognized
He was in the Giant Eagle in Colonial Plaza on East Main Street about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when security personnel recognized him from photographs that had been passed out.
They phoned city police, and an officer waited outside with the store manager.
This time, the thief had an accomplice, and they entered the store with a medium-size vinyl cooler, which they placed in a shopping cart, police reports show.
As employees and security were on alert, hundreds of dollars' worth of the disposable razors vanished from a store shelf.
The razors are in an area that is blind to video surveillance cameras.
The men left the store without detection.
Store cameras have captured the man on videotape, but officials do not know his identity.
