Area chefs will create everything from main-course dishes to desserts.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Edward W. Powers Auditorium will be the setting Sept. 29 for "A Symphony of Good Taste," a culinary extravaganza to be sponsored by the Youngstown Symphony Guild.

The fund-raising event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature international fare created by area chefs.

The variety, ranging from main-course dishes to desserts, will be complemented with tastes of wines and beers.

Among the highlights of the evening will be a silent culinary auction of assorted kitchen and food items, a cigar bar and music.

The cost for the evening is $45 per person. Space is limited; reservations are required by Sept. 15. For tickets or additional information contact the Youngstown Symphony Center, (330) 744-4269.

Proceeds will go toward Youngstown Symphony Orchestra concerts and programs.
