CANFIELD -- The Mahoning County 4-H program will have a centennial birthday celebration Sept. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. near the 4-H livestock area at the north end of the fairgrounds to mark the 100th anniversary of the 4-H youth development program.

4-H mascot Chris Clover will take part in the festivities. Birthday cake will be served and goody bags distributed.

All past and present 4-H members, volunteers and parents are invited.

In addition, a collection of 4-H memorabilia, including pictures of former Royal Court members, will be on display in Building #25 during the fair.

Ohio is the birthplace of 4-H. The organization has been active in Mahoning County since 1915.

For more information, call the Mahoning County extension office, (330) 533-5538.
