MINERAL RIDGE -- Valerie Ann Copanic, 217 Pennsylvania Ave., McDonald, and Jeffrey Allen Meyers, 840 Oregon Ave., McDonald, were united in marriage by the Rev. Mark Phillips during a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. June 29 at First Presbyterian Church.
Later the daughter of Dennis and Sylvania Copanic of the Pennsylvania Avenue address and the son of Darryl and Jane Meyers of the Oregon Avenue address accepted congratulations during a reception at Tiffany's Banquet Center, Brookfield.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyers both graduated with bachelor's degrees in chemistry from Youngstown State University, where they are pursuing master's degrees in chemistry. The bride is a graduate teaching assistant at YSU, and the groom is a medicinal chemist at Ricerca Biopharma in Concord.
Honor attendants were Cheryl Copanic of Niles and Amber Copanic of McDonald, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Michelle Meyers of McDonald, sister of the groom, and Melissa Gregory of McDonald and Stephanie Gregory of Niles, her cousins. They wore sterling-colored dresses.
Anthony Rozzo of Athens performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Eric Brenner of New Castle, Pa., cousin of the groom; Brian Miles of Chicago; and James Jones of McDonald. Ring bearer was River Hansen of Niles, cousin of the bride.
