SHELLEY CURTISWILLIAM NICKS

YOUNGSTOWN -- Shelley Mae Curtis and William McKinley Nicks, both of Suffolk, Va., were united in marriage June 29 during an outdoor ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis, 637 Willis Ave.

The Rev. Salina Covington solemnized the noon ceremony, and a reception followed at the Curtis residence.

The groom is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. McKinley Nicks.

The bride's white satin gown was embellished with lace and pearl appliques, and featured a high neckline illusion yoke and a chapel train. Her veil was gathered to a headpiece of satin rosebuds.

The bride's parents served as matron of honor and best man.

Both the bride and the groom are senior chief hospital corpsmen stationed with the U.S. Navy in Suffolk, where they live at 6717 Burbage Lake Circle.
