HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY! May Belle Schisler
Born: May 1, 1902, in Sharpsville, Pa., the oldest of four children born to Ceil and Alice Frisbie.
Residence: Has lived at 2675 N.E. River Road, Lake Milton, for the past 65 years.
History: Moved as a young child to Austinburg and graduated from Grand River Academy in 1920. Moved to Warren after graduation, where she was employed by the Hughes family.
Husband: Married LeRoy H. Schisler in 1930. He is deceased.
Children: Sam Schisler of Brandon, Miss., and Shirley Morris and Mary Lee Herron, both of Lake Milton; she and her husband also reared Roy Tomaino of Newton Falls and Frank Tomaino of Lake Milton.
Employment: Was a homemaker and opened her home to numerous foster children. Also worked as a custodian in the Jackson-Milton Schools.
Memberships: Is a member of Lake Milton Senior Citizens and has been a member of Pricetown United Methodist Church since 1938, serving in many capacities.
Hobbies: Has made nearly 100 quilts that she has given to family and friends. She also has traveled to many states, Canada, Mexico and the Holy Land. Is a Cleveland Indians fan and attended her first game at Jacobs Field when she was 98.
Celebration: An open house will be held in her honor from 4 to 6 p.m. May 4 at Pricetown United Methodist Church, Pritchard Ohltown Road, Newton Falls. It is requested that gifts be omitted. For those who wish to donate, a fund has been established at the church in her honor to purchase and install equipment for the hearing impaired.
