Annual used-book sale

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The 21st annual four-day used-book sale will be from Wednesday through Saturday at the New Wilmington Fire Hall and is open to the public. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of New Wilmington, this event offers area residents a yearly opportunity to purchase many of those books they want and often can't find at affordable prices.

All books are donated to the club and often include many of the latest and most popular titles. The sale features thousands of books, all sorted and displayed under 50 or more of the requested categories. Popular paperback editions are displayed separately.

Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tourism event planned

NILES -- A 45-foot mobile tourism classroom will motor to Cafaro Field on May 9 as part of a National Tourism Week celebration sponsored by the Trumbull County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The event, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature displays and presentations by local travel agencies, bus tour companies, motels and restaurants.

The highlight will be a visit by the Travel & amp; Tourism Institute's Mobile Classroom, a customized bus that travels the country to hold discussions, play promotional and educational videos and hand out brochures.
