Geneva College
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Rob Lowe, a junior on the track team, has been honored by the National Christian College Athletic Association as its student athlete of the week.
Lowe won the 100-meter in two meets last week.
Thiel College
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Tammi Hassell, a graduate of Hubbard High School and a catcher on the softball team, has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference softball player of the week.
Hassell batted .636 (14-for-22) with two doubles, two triples and seven runs scored for the week.
Mount Union College
ALLIANCE -- Senior Mark Prejsnar, a Poland High graduate, won the 5,000-meter run at Saturday's Purple Raider Track Invitational at Mount Union Stadium.
Senior Damon Dixon of Youngstown East finished second in the 100-meter dash.
East Liverpool graduate Natalie Anderson took second in the 100 and JFK grad Lori Zelenak was second in the 1,500.
Allegheny College
HERSHEY, Pa. -- Sophomore Joe Zumpella, a Struthers High graduate, shot a two-day total of 153 to finish fourth among 75 golfers in the District 2 Tournament at the Country Club of Hershey.
Zumpella also earned first-team all-district honors as Allegheny fired a 606 to finish second behind Wesley College. Allegheny qualified for the Division III national championship -- for the 26th straight time -- on May 13 in Lincoln, Neb.
It will compete this week in the Rochester Invitational at Oak Hills Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
