HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL Boris gives Chaney assortment of hits

Gabe McKee hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Hubbard over Liberty.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Chaney High scored at least two runs in every inning as it defeated Rayen School 15-1 Wednesday in a City Series baseball game. Gary Boris led the Cowboys (4-2, 1-0) with a triple, double and single and he drove in two runs.
Jamal Monroe of Rayen led off the contest with a double, stole third and scored on a wild pitch.
Walsh Jesuit 5, Canfield 4: CANFIELD -- Walsh Jesuit had a 5-2 lead in the top of the seventh inning and held on to post its fifth victory in six outings.
Scott Monzel hit a double and two singles and scored once for Walsh Jesuit. Teammate Mark Voglino hit a double and single.
Dan Leonard hit a double and single for Canfield (7-3).
Salem 6, Crestview 4: SALEM -- The Quakers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to snap a 3-3 tie.
Jason Yeager reached on an error and Landon Heath singled to start the rally. Andy Miller had an RBI single and Ken Buckley drove home two runners with a base hit.
Travis Milliron (2-1) was the winning pitcher in relief for the Quakers (3-6). Seth Antram took the loss for Crestview (7-1).
Western Reserve 15, Lowellville 0: BERLIN CENTER -- Luke Strock singled, hit a three-run home run and drove in five runs while Chris Mountain had two hits, one a double, for the Blue Devils (5-2, 4-1 Inter-County League).
Brandon Keck (3-0) held the Rockets to two hits, one a double by Nick Cope.
Andrew Lenhart also had three hits and Ben Martin doubled for Western Reserve.
South Range 4, McDonald 3: NORTH LIMA -- Jeff Johnston earned his first pitching victory in relief of Jason King. Jim Sanders and King had two hits and one RBI each. George Rohan's single drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Raiders (9-2, 6-0 ICL).
Hubbard 2, Liberty 1: HUBBARD -- Gabe McKee hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning after Brandon Ward walked with one out.
McKee also singled for the Eagles (3-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Tom Blackiston went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Liberty.
Columbiana 12, United 3: HANOVERTON -- The Clippers (6-2, 5-1) broke open the Tri-County League contest with a six-run surge in the top of the seventh inning.
Brian Hart paced Columbiana with two doubles and a single and he drove in five runs.
Dean Stokes chipped in with two singles and scored three times. Winning pitcher Brett Seybert (3-2) added a double, single and scored three times and struck out 12 to pick up the win. Shaun Ortiz hit a double and single scored two times.
West Branch 11, Minerva 5: BELOIT -- Josh Scott knocked in three runs while Drew Romigh and Jim Christy each added two RBIs for the Warriors (5-2). Robert Stull pitched five innings and struck out four for the win.
Girard 5, Newton Falls 3: GIRARD -- Greg Cook and Danny O'Neill both singled twice to lead the Indians (6-2, 3-2 TAC). Cook also scored a run and had a stolen base. O'Neill also scored a run, with a stolen base and a RBI.
Py Valley 4, Conneaut 3: CONNEAUT -- Nick Pinney singled twice and had two stolen bases for Py Valley (3-3, 1-0 Northeastern Conference). Josh Pal added a double.
Denny Bowman doubled and Dawson Knight singled three times for Conneaut.
