POLICE CALLS Canfield, Austintown

Summary of police activity:

CANFIELD CITY

April 8

Drugs: Two men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on South Broad Street. A 23-year-old Salem man was charged with drug abuse for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A second, 24-year-old Salem man was charged with drug abuse, marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, including a metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue and a bag of suspected marijuana.

April 10

Threats: School officials reported that three seventh-grade girls reported receiving threatening e-mail from a seventh-grade boy at Canfield Middle School.

Criminal damaging: A Canfield High School female faculty member reported a tire on her car had been deflated in the parking lot at the school at 100 Cardinal Drive.

Theft: Six students reported that their wallets had been stolen when they went to the outside basketball court behind Canfield High School.

April 11

Drug paraphernalia: A 24-year-old Canfield man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia on a traffic stop on Hickory Hollow. He had in his possession a multicolored glass pipe with suspected marijuana residue.

Drug abuse: Two students were charged with delinquency: a male for possession of drugs, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a female for drug abuse-marijuana and possession of tobacco on school grounds at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Drugs: A 22-year-old Youngstown man was charged with drug abuse-marijuana after he was stopped on a traffic violation on South Broad Street. Police found six small plastic bags of marijuana.

AUSTINTOWN

April 8

Theft from auto: A CB radio was reported stolen from Days Inn, 1051 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft from auto: 100 gallons of diesel fuel was reported stolen from the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Robbery: Someone forcibly removed an engagement ring from the victim in the 100 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Theft: License plates were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Plumbrook Drive.

Telephone harassment: Someone keeps calling and asking for the residents' deceased husband in the residential 60 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Breaking and entering:: An unattached garage in the residential 2000 block of South Raccoon Road was broken into and stolen were a CD player, a pressure washer and auto shocks.

April 9

Drug offense: A man was issued a summons for drugs at Oakwood Avenue and Four Mile Run Road.

Telephone harassment: Hang-up calls were reported at a residence in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: A man was accused of stealing at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damage: A window was broken by a stone in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: Money was taken from a pop machine at Save-A-Step, 31 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

April 10

Criminal damaging: Siding was reported damaged in the residential 3000 block of Staatz Drive.

April 11

Criminal damaging: Two windows were broken out of a vehicle at Bill's Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was reported damaged in the residential 100 block of Country Green Drive.

Theft: An AM/FM compact-disc player was stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.

Criminal damaging: A wooden fence was reported damaged in the residential 1000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Drug offense: A man was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: Beer was reported stolen by a man at True North gas station, 3670 Meridian Road.

April 12

Theft: A window as broken on a vehicle and compact discs were stolen at Nodays, 3713 Oakwood Ave.

Theft: An AM/FM cassette player was stolen from a vehicle in the residential 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: A purse was reported stolen at Wal-Mart.

Theft: A checkbook and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Alderwood Drive.

Theft: A 2001 GMC Jimmy was stolen from the residential 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

April 13

Warrant: A 54-year-old Berlin Center woman was arrested at state Route 46 and LouIda Boulevard on a warrant out of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department for possession of cocaine.

Theft from auto: Ohio license plates were stolen from a vehicle at the Sandwich Factory, 15 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Criminal damaging: A subject struck a mailbox with a bat in the residential 4000 block of Burkey Road.

April 14

Auto theft: A 1989 Chevrolet Camaro Z-24 was stolen from the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Auto theft: A 1991 Buick Century four-door was stolen from the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Drug offense: Oxycontin pills were left in a room at the EconoLodge, 5431/2 Seventy-Six Drive.
