AUCTIONS

XCardinal Mooney and Ursuline high schools will sponsor Operation Education benefit auction April 26 at Mr. Anthony's, South Avenue, Boardman, beginning with hors d'oeuvres at 6 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6:45. Among the variety of items to be auctioned are a mink coat and vacation package to Punta Cana. For information call Patricia Fleming, (330) 744-4563.

XThe Richard E. Flauto Wildlife Foundation will hold a Wolf Sanctuary charity auction from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 22 at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. XWilmington Grange, High Street, New Wilmington, Pa., will hold its annual spring quilt auction Saturday. A preview will begin at 9 a.m. with the sale starting at 10. A variety of quilts and wallhangings will be offered, many made by the Amish. Lunch also will be available. For information or to consign quilts contact Joanne White, (724) 652-1271.

BINGO/CARDS

XAltar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will hold their annual card and bingo party at 7 p.m. Sunday in the church hall, 618 Ohio Ave., McDonald. The evening will include bingo, cards, raffles, door prizes and refreshments. Cost is $4. All proceeds will be used for the purchase of altar supplies.

XByzantine Catholic Central, 5512 Youngstown-Poland Road, Youngstown, will hold a "Bingo Mania" from 6:45 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $20 and $25 with the $20 set including a 12-card master set and the $25 an 18-card master set. Doors will open at 4 p.m. for kitchen and ticket sales.

XA card and bingo party will be held by St. James Altar and Rosary Society at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the cafeteria of Queen of Angels School, 2106 Arbor S.E., Warren. There will also be raffles and a luncheon. Tickets are $4.

XSt. Brendan Church Altar and Rosary Society will sponsor a card and bingo party at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maxwell Hall, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $4 and include lunch. Entrance will be at the back parking lot.

BOOK SALES

XWestminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, will hold its 46th annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 24 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 25 and 26.

CRAFT SHOWS

XQuota International of Salem is having a "Spring Festival of Crafts" fund-raiser Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Timberlanes in Salem. Proceeds will benefit Salem Area Speech and Hearing Clinic and community projects.

HIKES

XAudubon Society of Mahoning Valley is sponsoring a bird hike and viewing of spring waterfowl beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Lake. For directions or information call (330) 783-6287.

LAS VEGAS NIGHTS

XOrthopaedic Center Relay for Life Team will hold a Las Vegas night from 7 p.m. to midnight April 26 at the Operating Engineers Hall Local 66, 291 McClurg Road, Boardman. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and there will be free food, refreshments, desserts and door prizes. The event also will feature a 50/50 drawing and Chinese auction. For ticket information call (330) 758-8780. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

XWCI and Local 1375 Relay for Life Team are sponsoring a Las Vegas night at 7 p.m. Saturday at the union hall, 746 Elm Road, Warren. There is no admission, but donations accepted. Prizes include a trip for two to Atlantic City; winners must be present. There will be free food, beverages and wine-tasting.

SALES

XGibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church, 755 E. Dewey Ave., Youngstown, will hold a trash and treasure sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and 8 p.m. to noon Friday. Also available will be a bake sale and light lunch.

XA rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the North Lima Mennonite Church, state Route 7. Lunch and bake goods will be available.

XTrinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and a half-price sale from 9 a.m. to 2 Saturday.

XUnited Methodist Women and United Methodist Men of Cortland United Methodist Church will sponsor a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 at the church, 155 N. High St., Cortland. Friday will feature $2 a bag for clothing and $1 a bag for miscellaneous; large items will be half-price.

TOURS

XO-My-O Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will sponsor a bus trip April 20 to the Carousel Dinner Theatre for a matinee performance of "Phantom."
