This a three-day series that examines the effects of the recession on Ohio and how the state is trying to protect itself from future economic downturns.

Today: Some parts of Ohio are struggling, while other areas are doing fine. Also, Ohio politicians are trying to protect jobs now in the state and bring in new ones.

Monday: To survive, Ohio manufacturers must modernize.

Tuesday: Officials are pouring millions of dollars into helping Ohio to become a high-tech state.
