BOARDMAN -- Marilyn D. Nelson, 45, of 254 Norwood Ave., Youngstown, was to be arraigned later today in Mahoning County Court on a charge of felonious assault. She is accused of stabbing Gregory L. Stewart, 30, of the Norwood Avenue address, at 6640 Market St. Nelson phoned police about 3:58 a.m. Saturday to say Stewart had been stabbed. She was later arrested Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where Stewart was taken for treatment. He was released Sunday. Police reports gave no information on how or why the stabbing occurred.
Hubbard Twp. mancharged after chase
HUBBARD -- A 60-year-old Hubbard Township man faces charges after a lengthy weekend chase. Thomas King of Chestnut-Ridge Road was scheduled to appear today in Girard Municipal Court on charges of speeding, fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault. Mike Begeot, township police detective, said police attempted to stop the vehicle King was driving at Chestnut-Ridge and Wick-Campbell roads about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Begeot said the chase took police into city of Hubbard and Liberty Township in Trumbull County; Youngstown and Austintown Township in Mahoning County; and came to an end in Calcutta in Columbiana County where police flattened his tires with strips across the road. King was being held in the Trumbull County Jail.
Police seek suspectsin robbery of bakery
SHARON, Pa. -- Sharon police are looking for two men who robbed the Metz Bakery on Division Street. Police said they were spotted leaving the bakery at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday in a four-door burgundy Oldsmobile. Police later learned the car had been reported stolen in Youngstown at about 7:30 that morning. One man came into the store with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, and the other man, who also had a handgun, stood outside, police said. Witnesses described them as black men, wearing dark clothes. One was about 6 feet tall and the other man was shorter.

YOUNGSTOWN -- West Side Citizens' League will sponsor a forum for candidates running for the Ohio 64th District, Mahoning County commissioner, 7th District Court of Appeals, probate court judge, and common pleas court judge at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria of West Elementary School, 134 N. Hazelwood Ave.
Closed for road work
LIBERTY -- Closure to through traffic on Fifth Avenue, between Mansell and Colonial drives, for sanitary sewer construction is being extended through April 19. Detour is along Fifth, Mansell and Cardinal Drive.
Discussing project
LIBERTY -- Township trustees will have a special meeting at 7 tonight at the township administration building to discuss the Belmont Avenue sidewalk project.
Gunshots fired at home
WARREN -- An Oak Street man told police that someone fired several shots at his house early today. The man called police around 3:10 a.m. No injuries were reported.
