Legal secretaries offer scholarships, elect officers
WARREN -- Trumbull County Legal Secretaries Association is accepting scholarship applications.
The scholarship is named for Margaret G. Wilson, an employee of Trumbull County Probate Court for 41 years. The scholarship helps provide financial assistance to a deserving candidate for his or her legal education.
Applicants are selected on the basis of financial need, merit and academic ability. Applicants must be a high-school senior or a student enrolled in an institution of higher education.
Scholarship applications are available through high-school guidance counselors, technical school and university scholarship departments, or by calling Deborah Saner, scholarship chairman, at (330) 652-0630. Applications must be completed and mailed to the legal secretaries association before May 1.
Election: Officers elected March 19 were Marthie Cecil, president; Saner, secretary; Kim Falatic, treasurer; and Made Sheldon, director.
Legal support professionals may obtain more information on the tri-level association, the professional legal secretary exam or the associate legal secretary exam by calling Cecil at (330) 373-1035.
