BINGO/CARDS

XAli Baba Grotto will hold a card party at the grotto hall, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren, at 7 p.m. Thursday. Admission is $5, and there will be drawings, door prizes and a salad bar. XSt. James the Apostle Church Christian Women's Organization will hold a card and bingo party from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, Route 422, New Bedford, Pa. Tickets are $5, and there will be prizes and refreshments.

XSt. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, will hold a bingo fund-raiser at 2 p.m. Sunday. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. when lunch, snacks and beverages will be available for early birds. A $25 donation will include game cards for all games including specials, free coffee, pop and daubers. Extra cards also may be purchased.

XSt. Paul Church hall, state Route 170, New Middletown, will be the setting for a spring fling at 2 p.m. Sunday featuring bingo, cards, raffles, refreshments and door prizes. Admission is $5.

FUND-RAISERS

XSt. Andrewes A.M.E. Church Missionary Society will hold its 40th annual "Pink Tea" at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mill Creek Community Center, 496 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown. Guests are encouraged to wear a touch of pink. The program will feature the drama "Faith, Hope and Charity: Black Women who Paved the Way" with Judy Tarver and Darlene Rogers and co-directors.

XSt. Joseph Society of St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sponsor a style show and dinner April 21 at the church social hall. A stuffed chicken breast buffet dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. with the style show to follow. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Advance ticket sales only by calling the church rectory at (330) 755-0266.

LECTURES

XIkebana Youngstown and Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will sponsor a demonstration and lecture on the O'Hara School of Ikebana flower design at 1:30 p.m. April 14 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown. The program will be given by Bill Collins, education coordinator of the Kingwood Center in Mansfield. Cost is $8 for members and $12 for nonmembers. Call (330) 740-7116 for information.

XA four-part series on "Grief" will be offered at St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and April 9, 16 and 23. Sr. Pauline Dalpe will conduct the sessions. The series is open to the public.

SALES

XBraceville United Methodist Women, 577 Park Road S.W., Newton Falls, will hold a rumage sale, lunch and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and a $1 a brown bag day from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday.

XA spring rummage sale is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Avenue Ext., North Lima. Lunch will be available including hot sandwiches, homemade vegetable and chicken noodle soups, homemade pies and beverages. Homemade baked goods also will be sold.

XColumbiana Masonic Temple will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and craft and bake sale from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the temple on New Springfield Road, Columbiana. The dinner costs $5 for adults, $2.50 for 6- to 10-year-olds and free for those 6 and under.

XLove Deliverance Center, 2750 Gibson St., will have a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

XThe Men's Garden Club of Youngstown will sell begonias, impatiens, petunias, marigolds, dusty miller and ageratum for $9 a flat of 36 plants and $1.75 for a six-pack. Orders must be placed by calling (330) 788-4838 or (330) 782-8982. Pick up will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 at the greenhouse at 8484 Market St., Boardman. XA rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, New Springfield. Friday will be $1-bag day with brown paper bags provided by the church.

XRedeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown, will have a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday featuring a half-price and bag sale beginning at 2. A light lunch will be available.

XSt. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 3755 S. Raccoon Road, Canfield, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

XSt. John Lutheran Church, 5734 Mahoning Ave., Champion, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Lunch and refreshments also will be available.

XTrinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2742 N. Road N.E., Warren, will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

XA calendar of activities to which the public is invited is published Mondays. Please submit information to the Society Department by 5 p.m. Thursday.
