YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. William Hegedusich, 3323 Kirk Road, were honored at a family dinner party Sept. 4 at Alberini's in Niles in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

Arrangements for the event were made by their children, Carol Gilligham of Hopkinsville, Ky.; U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William Hegedusich of Seoul, South Korea; and David Hegedusich of Helotes, Texas. Four grandchildren complete the family circle.

The couple also renewed their marriage vows June 24 at St. Columba Cathedral.

The former Cecilia Blazo and Mr. Hegedusich were married Sept. 1, 1951, at St. Elizabeth Church. They are members of St. Christine Church.

Mrs. Hegedusich retired in 1992 from the Super Duper, where she was a cashier.

Mr. Hegedusich served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and took part in the occupation of Japan, and was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 30 years. He retired in 1994 as plant manager at Ursuline Sisters in Canfield.
