NILES -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cicero, 2785 Niles-Vienna Road, were guests of honor during a dinner reception Sept. 22 at Leo's Ristorante in Howland in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Arrangements for the festivity were made by their daughter, Carla Cicero of Niles, and their son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Connie Cicero of Niles. Four grandchildren complete the family.

The former Nancy Spinella and Mr. Cicero were married Sept. 22, 1951, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. They renewed their marriage vows June 24 at St. Columba Cathedral and received a papal blessing.

Mr. and Mrs. Cicero owned and operated Cicero's Market and Robbins Beverage for 50 years. He retired in 1984 and she retired this year.

Mr. Cicero, who served as mayor of Niles from 1980-84, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, San Filipo Neri and Frontliners. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

The couple are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
