Published: Sun, September 30, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

SHARON, Pa. -- The Shenango Valley Initiative is looking for people who want to make a trip to Harrisburg for Lobby Day Oct. 17.

The congregation-based, community activist group has chartered a 47-passenger bus to take Shenango Valley residents to the state capital to meet with legislators on the topics of equity in school funding and property tax reform.

Similar groups from Erie and Pittsburgh will also be making the trip. The delegation will meet with legislators at the Capitol building from 1 to 2 p.m.

The bus from Sharon will leave the St. Joseph Church parking lot at 79 Case Ave. at 7 a.m., and the cost is $10 per person.

Participants should bring a bag lunch and be prepared to buy dinner on the way home.

Reservations must be made by Friday by calling the Shenango Valley Initiative office at (724) 346-4165.

Checks should be made payable to SVI and must be received by Oct. 12.
