Published: Sat, September 29, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

Seventh-graders spell out AMERICA while Anthony Feldes of Austintown hangs a flag made from paper chains. An Appreciation of America assembly was Friday at Struthers Middle School. Feldes is a member of the Tri State Detachment 494 Marine Corps League. Besides the patriotic artwork, pupils presented musical selections and short speeches. A color guard from Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 137 of the Mahoning Valley was on hand. Speakers included Ed Brannan of the Red Cross and Christine Hazen on behalf of the school staff.
