MCCONNELL'S MILL Heritage festival

The ninth annual Heritage Festival will be Saturday and Sept. 30 at McConnell's Mill State Park. The event centers on the operational era of the park's Old Mill, 1852-1928. There will be period music, artisans, crafts, food, an American Indian village and a Civil War encampment. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 at Kildoo Picnic Area. Admission and parking are free.

Directions: Exit 99 off Interstate 79, west onto U.S. Route 422, past Route 19, left into the park. Follow park signs.

Saturday

10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Children's games

Noon: Mountain therapy1 p.m.: Castle Cloggers2 p.m.: Mountain therapy3 p.m.: Hammered dulcimer featuring Carol Rak

Sept. 30
