Lightning forces teams to reschedule

AKRON -- The high school football game between West Branch and Akron Springfield was postponed Friday due to lightning.

The game will be completed at noon today at Springfield.

West Branch led 6-0 with 7 minutes, 50 seconds remaining in the first quarter when play was halted.

Tom Hinton scored on a 19-yard run, with the point-after kick blocked. He carried four times for 58 yards on the Warriors' opening drive.

Springfield was on West Branch's 40-yard line with a third-and-10 when the game was postponed.

Newton Falls-Champion: CHAMPION -- This game was postponed due to lightning and will be made up today at 1 p.m. at Champion.
