Fitch losesin Massillon

Two former Cardinal Mooney High teammates met as opposing football coaches for the second straight season. Austintown Fitch coach Carl Pelini and Massillon Washington coach Rick Shepas played on Don Bucci's title teams of 1980 and 1982. Friday at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, Shepas' Tigers defeated Fitch, 54-14. C6

Hubbard improvesto 5-0

Antonio Owens and Anthony Smith each scored two touchdowns Friday to help the Hubbard High football team stretch its undefeated streak to five. The Eagles defeated Liberty 28-6 to remain atop the Trumbull Athletic Conference standings. C7.

Aliquippa blanksMohawk

Aliquippa High quarterback Marques Council rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another Friday to lead his team to an 18-0 victory over Mohawk. In Columbus, Sharon held a 17-13 lead in the second quarter, but Columbus Watterson (1-3) scored the next 31 points to prevail. C6.
