Application is denied due to instability and lack of a full complement of sports.Feb. 24, 1999 -- Fitch makes inquiry into Metro Athletic Conference. Request denied.April 12, 2001 -- SVC commissioner Mike Butch proposes plan involving SVC and MAC in all sports except football. MAC not interested.May 10, 2001 -- Fitch and Boardman send letter of interest to MAC and Canton-based Federal League.May 14, 2001 -- Fitch High principal Doug McGlynn and Boardman High principal Louis Rucci meet with Brian Wolf, principal of Poland High, to discuss affiliation with MAC. MAC not interested.June 1, 2001 -- Fitch and Boardman are told by Federal League officials that there are not enough votes for membership approval.March 6, 2002 -- After again sending letters of interest to the Federal League, Fitch and Boardman are invited to join.March 14, 2002 -- Fitch and Boardman withdraw, join Federal League.
