Poland AARP to meet
POLAND -- The Poland AARP, Chapter 2520, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Poland United Methodist Church, U.S. Route 224.

Scrap tire pickup
MINERAL RIDGE-- Weathersfield Township will have its annual free scrap tire pickup from Monday to Saturday throughout the township.
There will be a limit of four tires picked up per household by township road crews. Residents are advised to set their tires out tonight. Pickup will begin at as early as 7 a.m. each day this week.
Free bus to farm review
CANFIELD -- Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a free charter bus Sept. 20 to the Farm Science Review in Columbus, Pearl Burlingame, organization director of Mahoning County Farm Bureau has announced.
The bus will pick up passengers at 6:30 a.m. at the McDonald's restaurant at the Lodi exit of Interstate 71/76, and return from Columbus about 4:30 p.m. Passengers will need to purchase an entrance ticket into the Farm Science Review. MINERAL RIDGE -- Weathersfield Township trustees will meet in executive session at 5 p.m. Monday in the township administration building. Trustees will discuss hiring a new police officer to replace Dan Kiger, who resigned effective Sept. 19, and may take action after the executive session.
Speech on AIDS
YOUNGSTOWN -- Boyd E. Graves, a Youngstown man who contends the federal government is responsible for developing AIDS and spreading it in Africa and the United States, will speak at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Give the Children A Chance office on the main floor of the Phar-Mor building in Federal Plaza West.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Youngstown is sponsoring a first-time Homebuyer Workshop from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The free workshop is designed to cover basic home-buying information such as determining affordability, budget and credit problems, and the application process. It will be at the Family Service Agency, 535 Marmion Ave.
