WARREN -- A garden party and dinner were held Sept. 8 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Cless, 147 Sarkies Drive, as the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The party was planned by the family and held at the home of the couple's daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Booker Kessler of Youngstown. Their son, David Cless, lives in Warren, and the couple have two grandchildren. A daughter, Kathy Kane, is deceased.

The former Marjorie Zabel and Mr. Cless were married Sept. 8, 1951, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church where they are members.

Mrs. Cless was the owner of Tennis Connection in Niles and retired in 1994. She was also a tennis instructor at Avalon Inn and Resort in Howland and Trumbull Country Club.

Mr. Cless is retired from Wean United in Youngstown.
