Published: Sun, September 9, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

GIRARD -- Mr. and Mrs. William J. Davis of 631 Churchill Road were the guests of honor Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 at family dinners at Cafe 422 and Alberini's, both in Niles, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.

A Mass of thanksgiving also was held at St. Rose Church in honor of the couple.

Hosts for the events were the couple's children and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Davis of Girard and Gary and Patricia Davis of Columbus. Five grandchildren complete their family.

Mr. Davis and the former Marian C. Chuirazzi were married Sept. 6, 1941, at St. Stephen Church in Niles. He is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1981 from LTV Steel Corp., where he was a plant engineer.

His wife is a homemaker and recently retired after 25 years of volunteer work in the gift shop at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

The couple are members of St. Rose Church.
