Canfield pounds Timken, 30-0, with high-scoring second half

CANFIELD --The Canfield High football team scored 23 points in the second half to cruise by Canton Timken, 30-0, Saturday at Fawcett Stadium.

Tim Dewberry scored two touchdowns and finished with 12 carries for 96 yards. Tom Rogers added 24 yards on nine carries for the Cardinals (2-1).

Canfield quarterback Leo Sorice was 8-of-12 for 142 yards and a touchdown to John Finamore. Sorice also scored on a 1-yard run. Mike Turjanica had three catches for 58 yards. Nick Graham added a safety to close out the scoring.

Canfield was penalized 15 times for 127 yards.

Timken, a member of the City Series, dropped to 0-3.
